Special series: the Immersion Music Salon

a concert series that was launched October 21, 2000, featuring Boston-area improvising experimental musicians and visual artists. Most events take place at the Zeitgeist Gallery in Cambridge. Salon events
bring together performers to collaborate and invent a new language of performance art in an atmosphere of supportive, fun, artistic experimentation.

Saturday, March 17 at 8pm – “Double Vision” at the Zeitgeist Gallery
Saturday, April 21 at 8pm – “Digital Dreams” at the Zeitgeist Gallery with special guest artists Katt Hernandez and Mike Bullock
this show is presented as part of the Boston Cyberarts Festival along with 911 Gallery Saturday, May 19 at 8pm – “Media Assault” at the Zeitgeist Gallery with special guest artist James Coleman on Theremin

Announcing the Immersion Music Salon Spring Season

Events to headline at the Zeitgeist Gallery in Cambridge
Concerts begin February 17, 2001

Boston, MA — Audiences will have an opportunity to glimpse the future of music with the continuation of a successful series that was launched in October. Monthly performances of improvisational and experimental music will continue to be offered by the Immersion Music Salon at Cambridge’s Zeitgeist Gallery on the third Saturday of every month.
Sponsored by Immersion Music, Inc. (www.immersionmusic.org), this “salon” of experienced artists from a variety of disciplines will gather to perform and share new ideas and compositions.

The format is informal, with a combination of prepared and improvised performances, as well as discussions and audience interaction. It is expected that the Salon will provide a stimulating, enlightened experience for the audience and an open, supportive environment
for the artists where they can experiment with new materials and co-invent a new style of live electronic music. Immersion Music Salon events will be fun evenings for people of all ages and musical backgrounds. Salon concerts are free and open to the public with a requested donation. Saturday, February 17 at 8pm – “Good Vibrations” at the Zeitgeist Gallery with special guest artists Ron Lessard and Seth Cluett

Saturday, March 17 at 8pm – “Double Vision” at the Zeitgeist Gallery

Saturday, April 21 at 8pm – “Digital Dreams” at the Zeitgeist Gallery with special guest artists Katt Hernandez and Mike Bullock

Saturday, May 19 at 8pm – “Media Assault” at the Zeitgeist Gallery with special guest artist James Coleman on Theremin

Saturday, June 16 at 8pm – TBA

Affiliated artists at the Immersion Music Salon include Curtis Bahn (composer and inventor of the SensorBass), Marc Bisson (prepared guitarist), Marilda Castro (dancer), Teresa Marrin Nakra (electric violinist and sensor musician), Emile Tobenfeld (video artist), and Walter Wright (video artist and inventor of the Video Shredder). They will be joined at each performance by special guests working in a variety of media.

Events to headline at the Zeitgeist Gallery in Cambridge among other venues Concerts to begin Saturday October 21, 2000

Boston, MA -- the launch of a unique new series devoted to experimental and improvisational music will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2000 at the Zeitgeist Gallery in Cambridge. Sponsored by
Immersion Music, this “salon” of experienced artists from a variety of disciplines will gather monthly to perform and share new ideas and compositions. The format will be informal, with a combination of prepared and improvised performances, as well as discussions and audience interaction. It is expected that the Salon will provide a stimulating, enlightened experience for the audience and an open, supportive environment for the artists where they can experiment with
new materials and co-invent a new style of live electronic music. Immersion Music Salon events will be fun evenings for people of all ages and musical backgrounds.

The schedule of events for the Immersion Music Salon series includes:

Saturday, October 21 at 8pm – “Good Vibrations” at the Zeitgeist Gallery with special guest artist James Coleman on Theremin

Saturday, November 18 at 8pm – “Double Vision” at the Zeitgeist Gallery with special guest artist Neil Leonard

Saturday, December 16 at 8pm – “Digital Dreams” at the Zeitgeist Gallery with special guest tony flackett (dj flack, turntables) & sabrina (film loops)

Saturday, January 13 at 8pm – “Media Assault” at the Flywheel Gallery with special guest Zipperspy

All concerts will be free and open to the public, with a suggested donation.
